College Scholarship Programs

The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program is the federally funded one and administrated by the state, based on merits scholarship program, which exists within the United Sates of America.

It is aimed on presenting the opportunity to the students who show some extra-ordinary skills in the academics within the post-secondary education.

The procedure is as follows: The United States Department of Education’s Office of Postsecondary Education provides the state education agencies with funds in order to award scholarships to the students, which are eligible to the scholarships (Byrd Honors Scholarships). The funds the students receive may be spent only in order to cover the educational expenses.

Firstly, The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program was established in 1985, and since that time, the funding is extremely increasing.

The requirements of the application for the Byrd Honors Scholarships are as follows:
•    The enrolment to the educational institution of the  higher education (IHEs);
•    Demonstration of some extra-ordinary skills in the field of academics;
•    Being a promising student in the field of further education and research works.

The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program (WOT) is not-for-profit organization located in Miami, Florida, and organized by Jennifer Valoppi (a television journalist) and Don Browne (Telemundo Network President). This program is aimed not only to present the scholarships to at-risk women, but also to motivate them to receive the higher education, and to inspire to become independent and able members of the society.

This organization is the only one of such a kind and it makes a great work in order at-risk teenagers of the women sex have the opportunity to recover and to receive the education.

WOT also tries to make the self-estimation of the girls in the age of teenagers high enough in order to be confident members of the society.

Apart from the scholarships presenting, all the mentors (doctors, judges, newscasters, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and executives) are meeting with the girls in order to have some talks, they are sharing their own experience, telling different stories, and trying to prevent the girls from the grave mistakes in their lives.

Many women have graduated with the help of WOT and have founded their roads in life, become successful in career and in family matters. The Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program (WOT) is open to everybody who needs help.
